The Long Island Consulation Center (LICC)
in Rego Park, Queens
The Long Island Consultation Center is a long-established (1953) multi-service psychiatric out-patient clinic that has provided care to NYC area resident since shortly after World War II in the same Queens location.
The LICC is licensed by NYSOMH. NYSOASAS approved for Medicaid reimbursement (1967) and has been granted a charter by the Board of Regents) NYS Department of Education (1973) to training clinicians. The LICC publishes a quarterly professionaljoumal, The Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy since 1964.
The LICC is staffed by NYS licensed professionals (40 social workers, 10 credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors, 4 psychiatrists, 1 registered nurse, 2 para-professionals) and 13 office personnel.
Clinical care is provided to a wide ranging population, as young as 4 years old to over 86 years old, including all diagnostic categories of mental disorders. substance abuse and alcoholism.
Psychological testing, psychiatric examination, psycho-tropic medications, individual, group, marital, couples, child, adolescent, family therapy is provided. A speakers bureau, community workshops, seminars for guidance counselors, teachers and other public services are provided.
The LICC is open until 10:00 p.m. during the weekdays to accommodate working people and on weekend days also.
